Giants QB Daniel Jones Suffers Torn ACL in Loss to Raiders, Misses 2023 Season

New York Giant's Quarterback Injured in Second Quarter

New York, NY - November 6, 2023 - New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones limped off the field and straight to the blue injury tent on the sideline after suffering a non-contact injury during the second quarter of the team's game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

MRI Confirms Torn ACL

An MRI taken after the game confirmed the worst fears of the Giants' medical staff: Jones had suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

The injury is a significant blow to the Giants, who are now without their starting quarterback for the remainder of the 2023 season.

Jones had been playing well this season, leading the Giants to a 6-3 record and a share of first place in the NFC East.

The Giants will now turn to backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor to lead the team for the rest of the season.

Taylor is a veteran quarterback with 11 years of NFL experience, but he has not started a game since 2020.

The Giants will need Taylor to step up and play well if they want to make a run at the playoffs this season.

Jones is expected to make a full recovery from his injury and be ready to return to action for the start of the 2024 season.
